Plastiqa!

Jaja~! Yes, yes, yes. I know it has been well over a year since I posted on my own website. But as the magazine went bunk and my corporate gigs took over, I’ve relied heavily on my MySpace account to keep everyone up to date on my goings on. Will the magazine ever come back? Who knows? Who cares? Those who know me are well aware I take my life day by day. That being the case, as of now, I’m all about my art. So no more writing about everyone else’s creativity, and more of me helping them with it and doing much, much more of my own.

So, for those that aren’t on MySpace and want to see my work. I’ll start putting it all up here. I’ll even be adding more info and thoughts behind my projects that you won’t get anywhere else.

If you are well into the psychobilly circuit in So Cal, you may have noticed a very familiar name pop up in you flyer stack as of late. With this week’s big show being Kat Von D’s Musink Festival, it’s no surprise to us that one of the hot draws for Saturday is none other than the infamously legendary Guana Batz. Already reeling off of some sell out shows in L.A. venues small and large, Plastiqa had a chance to catch up with frontman Pip Hancox for the lowdown.

The site died, so I’m doing my best voodoo dance to bring the thing back to life… Patience, kiddies…

With everyone and their kid sister trying to get their 15 seconds of fame on YouTube, Myspace, or even Craigslist for that matter, the extent of originality is wearing quite thin on this little thing we like to call the magic pixie expressway, or the ‘internet’ to you newbs out there. Even crying for the haters to leave Brittany alone has lost its net appeal. With another viral video popping up every minute on the minute, it truly is becoming hard to find something fresh to occupy one’s time between lunch and clock out.

To find the perfect girl to launch our new rag off right, we had to go clear across the globe to the land of the rising sun and giant robots. The distinguished honor of being the first Plastiqa Doll EVER goes to long time friend of Plastiqa, Miss Ruby Leu. One of the truest psychos you’ll find, Ruby is a Jane Of All Trades, splitting her time between bartending, DJing, wrecking and her old stand by, boozing.
